Cabled wallet



   Hi there! I'm preparing this cabled wallet to my mom's birthday. I used horseshoe cable  pattern and today I'm gonna show you how I did it. 
Cabled Wallet

CO - cast on
BO - bind off
k - knit
p - purl
st st - stockinette stitch

You need:
- straight needles 3 mm
  (UK 11/US 2½)
-crochet hook
- cable needle (cn)
- worsted (DK) or acrylic yarn in grey, and light orange
- tapestry needle
- zipper
-piece of fabric

Pattern:

CO 54 sts, using grey yarn.

Rows 1 and 3 (Right side): k18, p3, k12, p3, k18

Rows 2, 4, 6: p18, k3, p12, k3, p18

Row 5: k18, p3, sl next 3 sts to the cn and hold in back, k3, k3 from cn, sl next 3 sts to cn and hold in front, k3, k3 from cn, p3, k18.

Repeat rows 1-6 17 times or knit about 11 inches from the CO edge. 



Side:

Make two

CO 18 sts, using grey yarn.

Rows 1-5: st st, start with p

Row 6: k2tog, k14, k2tog (16 sts)

Rows 7-42: st st, start with p

Row 43: BO

Straps:

Make two
CO 5 sts, using light orangeSt st, till measure 3 inches. Bind off.


Flower:
   CO 2 sts, using light orange. Make an I-cord long about 12, 5 inches. Make five petals each of them with length 2, 5 inches. Using crochet hook make a chain long about 6 inches. I added a golden ring to the flower and some effects in the middle of the flower, using golden glitter. I took it from my old belt. It can be part from broken ear-ring, necklace, buckle or brooch.

   Sew all parts together. Make a lining from a piece of fabric. Put the lining inside the wallet, and then sew the zipper. Both sides of the zippers sew the orange straps.

Sew the lining and zipper at the same time.
