Party Purse Pattern!



   Today I'm gonna show you how to knit this awesome party handbag, using the most popular rose pattern in my blog! Also this is the perfect gift to your close friends!


You need:
- straight needles 3 mm
  (UK 11/US 2½)
- yarn in white
- zipper in white (about 8 inches)
-pearls for decoration
-metal chain, long about 49 inches
-piece of fabric in white for the lining

CO - cast on
BO - bind off
k - knit
p – purl
m1 – make one
k2tog – knit two together
p2tog – purl two together
st st- stockinette stitch




Front side:

Make 12 roses.

Rose pattern:

CO 5 sts, using red color yarn.


Rows 1, 3, 5: k1, m1, k to end


Rows 2, 4, 6: p to last st, m1, p1 (11sts)


Row 7: knit


Row 8: purl


Rows 9, 11, 13: k1, k2tog, k to end


Rows 10, 12, 14: p to last 3 sts, p2tog, p1 (5sts)


Repeat rows 1-14 twice until you make three petals.

Do not break the yarn, next:

Rows 1, 3, 5: k1, m1, k to end


Rows 2, 4, 6: P to last st, m1, p1 (11sts)


Rows 7, 9: knit


Rows 8, 10: purl


Rows 11, 13, 15: K1, k2tog, k to end


Rows 12, 14, 16: P to last 3 sts, p2tog, p1 (5sts)


Repeat rows 1-16 unitl you make total six petals.


Continue as follows:


Rows 1, 3, 5: k1, m1, k to end


Rows 2, 4, 6: p to last  st, m1, p1 (11 sts)


Row 7, 9, 11: knit


Row 8, 10, 12: purl


Rows 13, 15, 17: K1, k2tog, k to end


Rows 14, 16, 18: P to last 3 sts, p2tog, p1 (5sts)


Repeat rows 1-18 three times. Make four petals - 9 petals total.

Sew the roses together in three rows. Use pictures as a guide.



Back side:

CO 30 sts, using white yarn.
St st till you get 1 inch from the CO edge, the start increasing as follows:

Next: k1, m1, k to last st, m1, k1.

Next row: purl

Repeat increasing till you get 48 sts, then st st till you get 3 inches from the CO edge. Then continue increasing till you get 60 sts totally. Bind off. The size of the back side should be the same like the front side!

Bottom and sides:

        CO 80 sts, using white yarn. St st about 1,5-2 inches. Bind off.

Mini rose for the zipper:

CO 3 sts using white yarn.

Row 1: p

Row 2: (k1, m1) to the end (6 sts)

Row 3: p

Row 4: (k1, m1) to the end (12 sts)

Row 5: p

Row 6: (k1, m1) to the end (24 sts)

Row 7: p

Bind off.


Bag handle:

CO 4 sts using white yarn.

Knit an I-cord long about 49 inches. Bind off. Sew all parts together, decorate the roses with pearls. Make a lining.Run the bag handle through the metal chain, you can see more pictures HERE

Mini Summer Purse Tania


CO – cast on
BO – bind off
k – knit
p – purl
st st- stockinette stitch
m1 – make one

You need:

- straight needles 3 mm
(UK 11/US 2½)
- summer jeans yarn in white and red
- zipper in red (long about 8 in)
- metal chain (long about 49 in)
- lining fabric
- plastic plate


This knitting pattern is a piece of cake! Try it!

Pattern:

Back and front side:

Make two.

CO 44 sts, using red yarn.

Rows 1-5: st st, start with p

Change to white yarn.

Row 6: k1, m1, k to last st, m1, k1 (46 sts)

Row 7: p

Row 8: k1, m1, k to last st, m1, k1 (48 sts)

Row 9: p

Change to red yarn.

Row 10: k1, m1, k to last st, m1, k1 (50 sts)

Row 11: p

Row 12: k1, m1, k to last st, m1, k1 (52 sts)

Row 13: p

Change to white yarn.

Row 14: k1, m1, k to last st, m1, k1 (54 sts)

Row 15: p

Row 16: k1, m1, k to last st, m1, k1 (56 sts)

Row 17: p


   Repeat this way (keep 60 sts at row without increasing) till you get totally 6 red and 6 white stripes, then change to red yarn, knit next row and continue as follows:

Next row (wrong side): (k1, p1) x 9, bind off 24 sts, (k1, p1) x 9 (36 sts)

Next row: (p1, k1) x 9, cast on 24 sts, (p1, k1) x 9 (60 sts)

Next 5 rows continue knitting seed stitch. Bind off (wrong side)

Bottom and sides:


Make one.

CO 9 sts using red yarn.

Knit in seed stitch till you get about 18 inches (46 cm) from the CO edge. Bind off.

Seed stitch


Sew the plastic plate inside. That will give a shape to the handbag.

Bag Handle:

CO 4 sts, using red yarn.

Knit an I-cord long about 49 in (125 cm). Bind off.





Sew the lining.
