CO - cast on
BO - bind off
k - knit
p - purl
k2tog - knit two sts together
p2tog - purl two sts together
skpo - pass slipped sts over
st st - stockinette stitch
m1 - make one

Chick

You need:
-3mm needles
-acrylic yarn in yellow and orange

Pattern:

CO 40 sts, using yellow yarn.

Rows 1-2: k

Rows 3-16: st st (14 rows)

Row 17: k1, (k1, k2tog) X 13 (27 sts)

Row 18: p

Row 19: k1, (k2, 2tog) to the end (21 sts)

Row 20: p

Continue to make the head:

Row 21-28: st st 8 rows, start with k


Row 29: k1, (k2tog) X 10 (11 sts)

Row 30: p

Row 31: k1, (k2tog) X 5 (6 sts)

Row 32: p

Break the yarn, leave a long tail (about 15 cm). Thread through sts.
With yellow yarn make a running stitch just on the edge between the body and head, pull the yarn through wrong side. Fill the head with polyester fiberfill. Pull and tie.

BEAK

Using orange yarn CO 2 sts

Row 1: p

Row 2: k1, m1, k1 (3 sts)

Row 3: BO


WINGS
Make two

Using white yarn CO 6 sts

Row 1: k

Row 2: p

Row 3: k1, (k1, m1) X 4 (10 sts)

Rows 4-8: st st, start with p (5 rows)

Row 9: (skpo, K1, k2tog) X2 (6 sts)

Break the yarn, leave a long tail. Thread through sts.


FEET

Make two

Using orange yarn CO 4 sts

Row 1: p

Row 2: k

Row 3: p1, p2tog, p1 (3 sts)

Row 4: BO

Sew all parts together. You can use fabric paints for the eyes or black yarn to embroider them. Make hair from pieces yellow yarn, knot and brush with a comb.
Hen

You need:
-3mm needles
-acrylic yarn in white, red and yellow

Pattern:

Cast on 40 sts using white yarn

Rows 1-2: k

Rows 3-17: st st, start with p (15 rows)

Row 18: k2tog to the end of the row (20 sts)

Row 19: p

Row 20: k2tog to the end of the row (10 sts)

Row 21: p

        Break the yarn, leave a long end. Thread through sts.

HEAD

We will beg from the neck of the hen.
CO 12 sts using white yarn

Rows 1-5: st st, start with p

Row 6: k2tog, k8, k2tog (10 sts)

Rows 7: p

Row 8: k2tog, k6, k2tog (8 sts)

Row 9-13: st st 5 rows

Row 14: (k2tog) to the end of the row (4 sts)

Row 15:p

Row 16: (k1, m1) to the end (8 sts)

Row 17: p

Row 18: k1, m1, k3, m1, k3, m1, k1 (11 sts)

Row 19: p

Row 20: k1, (k2tog) to the end (6 sts)

Rows 21: p

        This is the head of the hen.

Break the yarn, leave a long end. Thread through sts.

You may fill the head with fiberfill.

BEAK

Using yellow yarn CO 2 sts
Row 1: k

Row 2: BO

WINGS
Make two

Using white yarn CO 6 sts

Row 1: k

Row 2: p

Row 3: k1, (k1, m1) X 4 (10 sts)

Rows 4-8: st st, start with p (5 rows)

Row 9: (skpo, K1, k2tog) X2 (6 sts)

Break the yarn, leave a long tail. Thread through sts.

Sew all parts together, use the picture for guide. You may use fabric paint for the eyes or black yarn.

Bunny

You need:
-3mm needles
-acrylic yarn in white, blue and beige


Pattern:

Using blue yarn, CO 40 sts
Rows 1-2: k

Row 3: p

Change to white yarn

Row 4-7: st st, finishing with purl (4 rows)

Change to blue yarn

Rows 8-11: st st (4 rows)

Rows 12-15: st st (4 rows)

Change to white yarn

Rows 16-19: st st (4 rows)

Change to blue yarn

Row 20: k1, (k1, k2tog) X 13 (27 sts)

Row 21: p

Row 22: k1, (k2tog) X (14 sts)

Row 23: p

Break the yarn, leave a long tail (about 15 cm). Thread
through sts.

HEAD


CO 5 sts, using white yarn

Row 1: p

Row 2: (k1, m1) to the end of the row (10 sts)

Row 3: p

Row 4: (k2, m1) to the end of the row (14 sts)

Row 5: p

Row 6: (k2, m1) to the end (20 sts)

Row 7-9: st st, start with purl (3 rows)

Row 10: k3, m1, k1, m1, k12, m1, k1, m1, k3 (24 sts)

Row 11: p

Row 12: k4, (skpo) X 2, k2, (skpo) X 2, k2, (skpo) X 2, k4 (18 sts)

Row 13: p

Row 14: (skpo) X 4, k2, (skpo) X 4 (10 sts)

Row 15: p

Row 16: (k2tog) X 5 (5 sts)

Row 17:p

The finishing is the nose of the bunny!
Break the yarn, leave a long tail. Thread through sts.

EARS

Make two

With beige yarn CO 4 sts

Rows 1-8: knit every row

Row 9: k2, m1, k2 (5 sts)

Row 10: k

Row 11:k2tog, k1, k2tog (3 sts)

Row 12: k

Row 13: k2tog, k1 (2 sts)

Row 14: k2tog (1 st)

ARMS

Make two

With blue yarn CO 6 sts

Rows 1-9 : st st, start with purl

Change to beige yarn

Row 10: k2tog, k2, k2tog (4 sts)

Row 11: p

Row 12: k

Row 13: p

        Break the yarn, leave a long tail. Thread through sts.

LEGS

Make two

CO 4 sts with beige yarn

Rows 1-3: st st, start with k

Row 4: BO

Sew all parts together. Use fabric paint for the eyes and nose or black yarn.
